Kidnapped Page 2
Van shook his head and turned to face the window. “I wasn’t expecting it, either. What would posses her to do such a thing?”
“Fear.”
And Van had never felt what true fear was until now. He lifted the picture he’d obtained of Sierra to his gaze. It had been taken outdoors, and Sierra’s blonde hair tumbled around her shoulders, the gleaming strands enhanced by the sunlight. Her vivid blue eyes were wide, and when Van stared into them, he could almost see the sadness she kept within. Her bottom lip was slightly larger than the top one, and it made her mouth look pouty. Van closed his eyes against the need to taste her pink, soft lips. She wore no makeup in the picture, and that made her look even more young and innocent.
He and Roman had read the file on Sierra and knew the pain of losing her parents had been too much for the girl to bear. Three years ago, she had been full of life, an honor student in her final year of high school. And now she was a woman in her early twenties who rarely ventured outside, performing freelance accounting work as her source of income.
But what surprised Van most was the fact that Sierra had chosen to take a course in vampire studies, and had signed up for it even though she’d already completed her freshman year. When she had entered college, the course hadn’t been available. Now it was still fairly new, added about two years ago as a curriculum requirement for incoming freshmen, a decision made by the Covenant and human governments. In Van’s opinion, it should’ve happened long ago. Educating people would help against prejudice; if it could change one person’s view about them, then the course would be making a huge difference.
He didn’t think Sierra hated his kind. As Covenant leader, he’d known about the match for a month already and had waited an additional four weeks to give Sierra time to learn more about their kind in her class. But he and Roman had finally decided to make their move, with a promise to each other that they would woo her slowly. And now she’d turned the tables on them and forced Van to make a move she wouldn’t like. He was dominant by nature, used to getting his way, and still he’d made allowances just for her.
Van was forced out of his thoughts as Roman wrapped an arm around his waist and a hand around his wrist. His partner turned his hand, so he could see the picture Van was still holding.
“She’s gorgeous,” Roman stated. “I can’t get over how stunning and perfect she is.” He dropped a kiss on Van’s shoulder.
Van turned around and dropped his arm. “She’s been through so much, and we may have harmed our chances by not going to her as soon as we knew she was matched to us.”
“I don’t agree with that, Van. She would’ve run regardless.”
“Do you have any idea where she is?”
“Her brother owns another home about five miles from Biscayne National Park. We can be there within an hour.”
“Call the limousine. Tell them to be here in fifteen minutes. I’ll call Lucian. He’ll take over the Covenant until my return.”
Roman lifted his hand and swiped his thumb across Van’s bottom lip. Van’s cock hardened at the feel of Roman’s rough flesh. Roman was a master when it came to pulling his lover’s strings. He knew exactly how to touch Van and how to raise his heat level past the boiling point. Van leaned over, placing his lips against Roman’s and taking his mouth in a fierce kiss. The heat built, his cock rose, and Roman began to do a delicious grinding against his heated flesh. Van wanted more than anything to strip his clothes off and show Roman how much he meant to him. But there wasn’t time for that. And the next time he made love to Roman, he needed Sierra to be with them.
Roman broke the kiss and they both panted harshly as they struggled to control themselves. He’d meant only to taste Van, to settle the lust pounding through him until they reached Sierra. It had taken sheer willpower to break off the connection. His penis was pressed against his jeans, rigid and hard. But if they continued where they were going, they would miss a very important opportunity with Sierra.
He had watched her from the rooftop two nights in one week, then from the shadows on the ground, able to see as clear as day with his vampire vision. Her picture hadn’t done her justice. She looked like a goddess, her pale blonde hair hanging loose past her shoulders, her lips the color of raspberries. Her body was curvaceous, her hips wide. He wanted to taste her, to carry her scent within him. A vision had come to mind of her legs on his shoulders, her cunt open and wet with need. When he’d watched her, he’d had to fight back the urge to beg her to be with him. The hunger had built every day, and it had only become stronger when he was near her. He’d felt her pain, her confusion at life. And he wanted to woo her gently, take his time with her, because trust wasn’t something easily given.
Roman forced himself to take a step back. “What is your plan?”
Van’s eyes narrowed as if he were figuring something out in his head. “She hasn’t left us any choice. I don’t want her detained for two months, and that’s exactly what’s going to happen if we don’t get there in time.”
“That doesn’t answer my question, Van. You are used to having your orders followed. I just want to make sure we take it easy with her.”
“We will,” Van replied, heading for the front door. “Right after we capture her.”
Chapter Three
Sierra stepped out of the shower and walked to the guest bedroom. She had arrived two hours ago, tired and hungry. She’d stopped by a diner and picked up a meal consisting of potato salad and chicken. After eating the food, she’d spent half an hour relaxing in a hot bath. It had temporarily eased her mind of her problems, but now that her stomach was satisfied, she couldn’t help but think about the twosome she’d been matched to. She snatched the invitation and the pictures from the night table.
There were two full-body photographs accompanying the invite, which was a surprise. She’d never heard of women who knew what the matched vampires physically looked like beforehand. And that made her wonder if Van had slipped the photos in.
Below the pictures were the names of the vampires. Van’s shoulder-length blond hair was loose. He was definitely dressed to impress, and Sierra couldn’t help but wonder if he did it knowing he was posing for her. She pushed that thought away. He wore black dress slacks in the photo and a close-fitting, white buttoned-down shirt. His physique seemed broad and muscled under the shirt. He looked like he was used to being obeyed, and Sierra guessed that came from his job as a leader.
Roman appeared to be the exact opposite of Van in looks. His black hair was cut military-style, close to his scalp. He dressed more casually and wore light blue faded jeans with a black T-shirt. He looked relaxed, his mouth set in a grin, almost as if he were grinning at her. Sierra couldn’t help but think that if she had at least gotten to know him, he would have made a wonderful friend, or more.
She dropped the photos back on the table. If life hadn’t taken her parents away, and the females weren’t forced to submit to a database, then maybe things could’ve worked out differently. Sierra squeezed her eyes shut in annoyance. Now was not the time to be having doubts. Her decision was made, and there was no turning back. She would never be able to accept two vampires as mates.
She opened her eyes and hauled her suitcase on top of the bed, unlocked it, and took out a white tube sundress. The night was muggy and the air misty, filled with impending rain, but she would be staying here for a while, and a trip to the grocery store was first on her list. Sierra dressed quickly, slipping her feet into a pair of heeled sandals, then brushed her hair, pinning it into a bun. She grabbed her purse and keys, heading for the foyer.
As she stepped outside and turned to close the front door behind her, an unusual wave of heat brushed her back, causing her stomach to dip with nerves. The feeling of being watched returned full force, and Sierra quickly shifted her body. But it was too late.
A hand slapped against her mouth, sealing off her cry of surprise as an arm wrapped around her waist. She was lifted off her feet, and she screamed, but the sound only came
out muffled. She kicked her legs against the ones behind her, fear causing adrenaline to pound through her blood.
“Easy,” a voice growled into her ear.
Easy? She was probably about to be raped ‑‑ or worse, killed ‑‑ and her captor tells her to be easy? Sierra redoubled her efforts and finally connected her heel with her captor’s shin. He grunted but didn’t release her. He carried her inside her home, and Sierra heard the door shut.
There had to be something she could do. He wasn’t going to hold her like this forever. He had to make a move, and she was going to be ready when he did. Her captor walked them into the living room and placed her on her feet in the center. When he released her, she whirled around, taking two steps back.
She froze in shock. The pale gray eyes that met her own were probably the last ones she wanted to see. Van resembled his photograph, but up close his presence was larger than she’d thought. He looked to be over six feet, his physique hard with muscles.
She tightened her hand on her purse while swallowing tightly. Panicking was not an option. “What are you doing here?”
He took a step closer to her. “We had an appointment.”
She licked her lips, realizing that the scheduled meeting was still about two hours away. He couldn’t know she wasn’t going to show up unless he’d been following her. So was he the one who’d been trailing her for a while now? Who would have thought Van, the leader of the Covenant, was a bit of a stalker? Another reason on her list to look for a quick escape. “I wasn’t intending to keep it. That should’ve given you a clue.”
“And I’m here to convince you our meeting could end in happiness if you only give it a chance.”
“I don’t think so.”
Sierra did the only thing she could think of. She threw her purse at his face. She caught his surprise as he brought his arms up instinctively to catch it. But that was all she saw, because she ran past him, heading to the foyer again. If she could get out of the house, then maybe she had a slim chance of outrunning him. She was only human, and no match for a vampire’s speed. Still, she at least had to try.
Sierra screamed as her ankle unexpectedly tilted to the side, causing her to stumble. She brought her arms up as she realized that she was going to hit the wood floor hard. But with a speed that astounded her, Van suddenly managed to land in front of her. He couldn’t stop her from falling, but he took the weight of her body, and the brunt of her fall. The momentum knocked him backward, and she instinctively put her hands out, landing right on top of him. How in the hell did he do that when he was supposed to be behind her? Shit! He must be a speed demon, she thought hysterically.
She felt his arms wrap around her waist as she tried to control her breathing. Adrenaline was still pumping through her blood. Van’s hand moved to the back of her neck and before she could come up with a refusal, he pulled her head down, capturing her lips in a hot kiss. Almost against her will, she parted her lips, accepting his tongue, inhaling his spicy scent. She couldn’t resist him, but in the back recesses of her mind, Sierra knew this wasn’t what she needed in her life now. This kiss would just prove she wasn’t attracted to him.
But he tangled his tongue with hers, sucking on it, and that thought just fled out of her mind. She moaned at the realization that his hard cock was pressed against her stomach. She felt it all ‑‑ the solidity of his chest smashing against her breasts, her pussy suddenly tingling and wet with desire. She had never felt such yearning for anyone, and she savored it, but a voice broke into her thoughts, forcing her to end the kiss.
“You two weren’t planning to get busy without me?” a voice from above asked.
She turned her head, surprised to see a dark-haired man standing beside them.
Roman.
Her breath hitched as she realized it was him ‑‑ Van’s lover. She lifted herself off of Van, scrambling to her feet. Roman was a couple of inches shorter than Van, and thicker, more heavily muscled. His eyes were as dark as the black hair on his head. Sierra couldn’t help but notice what a sexy contrast he was to Van. Both men were gorgeous, and she imagined them to be almost like an angel and a devil. “Actually, I was just trying to escape him.”
Roman smiled. “It didn’t look like that to me.”
Sierra took a step back as Van jumped to his feet. A hint of anxiety settled in her stomach as she realized the spicy scent she’d smelled earlier was filling the room. Her womb clenched; her pussy creamed in response. The aroma poured out of both vampires in waves. She stiffened her body. The realization hit her like the force of a Mack truck. She wasn’t expecting to be attracted to them. She had convinced herself that kissing Van was just a test, but deep down inside she knew it was a whopper of a lie. “I’m not going with either of you. My decision is final.”
Van growled. “You have no choice in this. That kiss proved that there is a spark. Our scents have filled the room, and I fucking bet that if I dipped my hand into your lovely cunt, I would find it weeping with your cream.”
A shiver of hunger went through her. Damn his words. She wasn’t supposed to find any of it erotic. “My life will not be dictated by today’s society. My answer is no.”
“Then you give me no choice but to head to plan B.”
Roman stepped closer to her. “You know, you never did tell me what plan B was, Van.”
Van smiled, showing his gleaming white teeth. “Oh, it involves a little kidnapping, blended with coercion. Nothing too extreme.”
Chapter Four
“K-kidnapping?” Sierra sputtered, taking a step back, her body tensing, ready for flight.
Roman walked toward her as she retreated. Her back hit the wall as her gaze collided with his. He caged her in with his arms. Her scent drew him in, and this close, Roman had to fight the need to drop to his knees and worship her as she deserved, with his heart, cock, and tongue. He had seen Van’s rigid dick, pressed against his slacks, proof for all of them that the attraction was there.
“You are not serious about this,” she whispered.
Roman leaned closer, stopping when his lips were just inches from her. “I’ve never been more serious. I can smell you from here, Sierra. You deny us your pleasure. I’m a lover, not a fighter, but I will use anything I can to my advantage.”
He reached down and pressed his fingers against her nipple. A streak of heat shot to his dick, and his sac tightened with lust. All of his muscles went taught with need. Through his peripheral vision, he saw Van inch closer. Sierra moaned and thrust her chest out. Roman’s cock hardened, then throbbed. He loved Van more than anything in the world, but his instant reaction to Sierra surprised him. He’d thought he would take the slow route, make sure she knew about him first, and vice versa. But the hunger was now too strong, and he needed her to complete the circle.
“Please,” Sierra pleaded.
Her soft plea flowed over him like creamy milk chocolate. He was pushing her, and instead of her screaming in fear, she begged him softly. She was their mate. The knowledge came to him in a blinding rush. He wanted to mark her, make love to her for hours, and imprint the feel of her body into his mind forever.
He was so wrapped up in her that, when she made her move, it stunned him. She bent her knees, dipped below his arms, and stepped away from him. She headed for the foyer, making an attempt to run again. Roman heard Van curse.
“That’s it,” Van yelled as he wrapped his hands around her waist. “Now she’s coming with us.”
Van picked her up, placed her over his shoulder, and headed toward the door. Roman watched the sexy hellion pound her fists on Van’s back.
“Let me go!” she screamed. “You can’t do this!”
Roman watched her. It surprised him that she had caught him unaware. But then, her nipple had been between his fingers, her scent filling his senses, and by then he had been drowning in her aroma. He hadn’t expected her to make another move. The right thing to do would be to let her go. But sometimes the right thing to do wasn’t always the best t
hing.
Van turned to Roman. “Are you coming?”
He nodded his head. Taming her was going to be a challenge. “Lead the way.”
* * * * *
Sierra shivered. The leather seat in the limousine felt cool against her skin and the chill did little to calm her heated nerves. Van sat across from her, watching, his body rigid, as if he were waiting to pounce. Roman sat beside her, his arm thrown around her shoulders, his fingertips caressing her neck.
She closed her eyes and took a deep breath, trying to calm her nerves. Instead she inhaled their scents, and their spicy aroma shot straight to her pussy. A ripple of awareness that these men would change her life settled in her heart. How was she supposed to act like she was unaffected by them, when Van’s aggression and Roman’s openness turned her on? And the reaction had been instantaneous. When she’d stumbled and fallen on Van, the rational thing to do would have been to jump to her feet. Instead, she’d savored the feel of his cock pushed against her, and that mind-blowing kiss had more than rattled her senses.
She’d been even more surprised when Roman had shown up. Pinned against the wall by his body, she’d felt his want pulsating through him. She’d thought she would go up in flames when he had touched her nipple. The touch had been like an electric current of white fire. And as hard as she tried, she couldn’t pretend that her reaction to them didn’t matter.
She opened her eyes to find both of them watching her. She struggled with her thoughts. “Why would you kidnap me and not put me though the Covenant’s ordered punishment?”
Roman touched her shoulder, his rough hand stirring her desire. But it was Van who answered her question. “I don’t believe in playing around with words. Have you ever seen someone and, in that instant, known that you just had to posses him or her? It took one photograph of you, and I knew right away that we were meant to be.”
